Hubby Was Busy

Even though we have a landscape service that takes care of our yard monthly, Hubby is now planting our own flowers again. We ordered perennial flowers for the entire one side of the house last year that were recommended by the landscape company and they all died this past winter. They bought them and they planted them. They are warrantied but the landscape company has not replaced them yet. We are hoping when they come this month that they will.

But in the meantime, Hubby was busy yesterday getting annuals for our large and small pots on the patio. We decided not to plant vegetables in them this year. Ignore the empty pot behind the orange ones. That is getting pitched.

We always did our outside landscaping and flowers and Hubby wishes that he still could. He does a much better job than hired help does. But alas, he just can't do much anymore on the outside except ride the John Deere to cut the lawn. So planting these few pots yesterday made Hubby feel good yesterday and that brought a smile to my face.

Be back perhaps tomorrow or Monday with frugal things. Time permitting.

  1. Hi AD, this is Chris. We didn't do much with the flowers this year since I am still getting my strength back from my illness last year and hubby is still working on rebuilding the deck. He has most of the floor boards down now, and the only things left after that are the stairs and the railing. It is going to be so nice when he is done. He also started trimming some of the bushes out front, but still has some of the sides and the back to finish, which guessing he will do after the deck is finished. Your hubby's flowers are pretty.

  3. Hi, AD.
It's Linda. The flowers are just beautiful. Love flowers....Nice job.
Working in our garden here--picking tomatoes and cukes. Banana peppers are ripening, and I have never grown them before. Hoping to pickle some soon.

  4. The flowers are beautiful and even moreso that planting them made you and your hubby happy! We have a good amount of land and I've tried planting veggies but we have too much shade on our property. :-( There just isn't a good spot for veggies (or plants) to really thrive. Someone recently told me about Coleus, which I guess is easy to care for and it comes in many different varieties/colors. I'm going to try that out for our landscape this year. :-)
